Live dealer etiquette
Live casino tables stream a human dealer dealing cards or spinning a wheel while you bet through the app or browser. Chat is optional, but when you use it, the same manners that keep a physical pit pleasant still apply — especially on mobile, where mistaps and delayed messages are common.
Before you sit
Check table limits match what you planned to stake. On LeoVegas and similar lobbies, filters for stakes and game type save you from joining a high-limit seat by accident. Set a session time on your phone’s clock; live streams make it easy to lose track.
Chat basics
- Keep messages short and civil. Dealers see many chats per hour.
- Skip personal questions, insults, and spam. Studios moderate; bans are real.
- English is the default on UK-facing tables; follow any language notes on the table info panel.
- A simple “thanks” after a friendly exchange is enough — no need to narrate every hand.
Timing and decisions
Blackjack and game-show styles give you a decision timer. Decide within it so the table does not wait on a frozen connection. If your mobile signal drops, the client usually auto-plays a default action — know what that default is in the help text. Do not berate the dealer for a late network packet; they cannot pause physics for one player’s Wi-Fi.
Other players
You will not hear other players’ voices on most online tables, but chat is shared. Avoid blaming seated players for “taking your cards” in blackjack — shoe outcomes are not a social debt. Side bets and optional side games are personal choices; commenting on someone else’s stake size is poor form.
Dealers and hosts
Dealers follow studio scripts and compliance rules (age prompts, game pace, camera angles). They are not allowed to tip you toward a winning number. Treat them as professionals running a regulated product, not as entertainers who owe a particular result.
Mobile-specific notes
Use headphones in public spaces so table audio does not broadcast. Lock orientation if your client supports it, so rotating the phone does not resize the bet UI mid-spin. Close bandwidth-heavy apps in the background when you join a HD stream — Hollywoodbets, GRP Casino, Spin Genie, LeoVegas and Duelz all rely on stable video for live products.
When to leave
If chat turns hostile or you feel tilted, exit the table. Use account limits or take a break. Help resources remain on our responsible gambling page.
